Autopage and Scytek both are good products for the money...
The Scytek model to look at would be the Astra 4000RS-2W-1

Ebay rocks just check the sellers rating... if they have sold well over 400 products and still maintain a 98% or higher rating then they are usually reliable... ALWAYS BUY INSURANCE!!

How are gas prices up in Canada? Im wondering if you are hurting more than us? sorry random question

I'll check Scytek out also. Thanks.

As for gas prices, I think the price was $1.21 a liter when I filled up a few days ago. So x's by 4 is $4.84 a gallon. Expensive stuff.

What are you guys paying?

i beg to differ sir, autopage at any price is a good product, zero warranties in the last year....cant say the same for omega, or dei products

ebay does not rock, its a great place to buy stolen merchandise or products that will not be covered by warranty, espescially if you like to buy blind. i love the original intention of ebay, to sell your crap, kind of like an online yard sale.

^ I agree with Terry's ebay statement whole heartedly!

And Yeah, I see what your saying about Autopage... They have very solid units, I was just saying that the likes of both are good if you want what you pay for ;)

yea i got ya, i just didnt want people thinking they were "cheap"

i dont know if everyone is aware of this but, myself and michael are both authorized dealers for particular brands that are protected lines, meaning they wont allow 2 dealers in the same area. this keeps the product from being whored out. notice how everyone has kicker? used to didnt be that way. nowadays product is being whored out at an astronomical rate and that is bad. jl fans i hate to tell you but your next...check out crutchfield...i couldnt sell jl if i wanted to becasue there is a jl dealer in my area but crutchfield can sell to anyone anywhere. next itll be all over ebay and in box stores and its over with. anyway back on topic, these protected lines prohibit an "authorized dealer" from doing internet business in most cases. if i got caught selling some brands online i would run the risk of having that line yanked from my store. do you think a legitimate shop or business would run the risk of losing their products to sell them to the general public at dealer cost or below? i know a guy who works for a company called tql, total quality logistics, they basically farm out transport, they pay truckers to deliver loads and collect a fee for making the arrangements. if you sell corn and they can get you to pay 3k for delivering it to the grocery stores distribution center they then find a trucker wholl do it for 2k and they keep the difference. for about 2 years now they have been forbidden by management to arrange any transportation of electronics. according to their numbers 60% of trucks carrying electronics either do not arrive or dont arrive with the full load. can you say, ebay? these losses are detrimental to the manufacturer, the driver, the insurance companies and the end consumer. all that missing product has a cost and that cost has to be absorbed somewhere. if the demand to circumvent the system and get product at the absolute lowest price regardless of legitimacy was less then things would definitely be better. claim you dont have a shop in your area? guess what drove them out of business? ebay, crutchfield and on their part a lack of other skills. hell i tint, i sell and paint and install body kits, i do headliners. i only sold about half a dozen subwoofers this week but i probably tinted 15 cars, im wrapping a headliner in black suede and ive quoted several body kits that may or may not happen. i do sell on ebay but its used stuff and generally not anything i would sell in the store, i just happen on to some things when im trading around. (by the way i got paid a motorcycle this week for some tint work)

Again I can't agree more with Terry...
Ebay and the likes of unauthorized online dealers are a huge thorn in the side of the car audio (and even performance) industries... Many of our protected lines can be had on ebay and the likes with huge risks in many cases to the consumer... And what's even worse in many cases is that the consumer is fooled into believing that these online sellers & stores are actually authorized only because they say they are. Terry, myself, and all of your local audio shops have worked hard to get the lines we carry (in some cases having to wait 1-3 years after being in business just to be approved to carry a certain brand)... only to have people taking advantage for the almighty dollar to lie, cheat, and even steal.
I've said it before, and I'm sure I'll say it again... ebay is a great place to find items as if it were a online garage sale with some hard to find parts and used goodies for all, but don't get fooled into thinking that just because someone has a good rating and a lot of sales that they are actually authorized dealers and that you're getting a deal... because more than 9 times out of 10, you're not, and you are only helping aid the problem.

Honestly, I'm too chicken to purchase from people off of ebay. I'm not even going to take the chance I think. Even though I can by the alarm an amp and a set of mids with change left over for the price they want for an alarm here in town. It's just not worth the risk of receiving junk or stolen items off ebay.

That said, they don't sell Autopage in town or any of the alarms you guys have mentioned anyway. So, I guess I'm just going to take chances with the thieves busting into my vehicle. Screw it, I'm not paying $600+ installed for an alarm/starter.

Call me cheap, call me stupid. I may be a little bit of both but one thing I'm not, is rich. I have other things to pay for and other things I need/want to buy. And to tell you the truth, alarms don't stop the thieves around here anyway. They bust in and steal what they want with or without alarms going off. In broad daylight too. Friggin' dinks.

So, I might as well just buy more car audio, lol. Can anybody recomend some good midbass speakers?
