good place to sell and buy stuff you actually get to meet people face to face.

warranties are a good thing if you care about your investment. some people dont though.

im just going to go on a personal rant here, as a shop owner, so dont take this too personally. i have no pity for someone who buys online and winds up with equipment that is incompatible or overrated junk. the reason i am able to offer a manufacturers warranty is because i have gone through the steps to make the manufacturer happy with the environment i sell in and the knowledge i have to install their product. a lot of wholesale places actually buy their products from retail businesses and sell them for very little markup, this does 2 things, it voids any real warranty and it doesnt guarantee the product will be there in the future, just for reference ramko dist. used to sell alpine, they were buying it sideways through a retail shop and then selling it to their customers who were technically either restricted from selling alpine due to dealer protection or there may have been another legitimate source that alpine designated as the distributor in that part of the country. the result? their supplier was found out and neither has alpine anymore, who do you think is going to warranty that product? noone......just food for thought.

i remember long ago in junior high buying an amp 1000 watts it said for something like 25-30 dollars i was young and dumb and thought omg this is the greatest deal ever so i got it. funny thing though the 40x2 amp i made in my electronics class in school was louder and sounded better than this super deal i eventually took it apart and saw the pitiful electronics inside the circuit board took up about 1/16 of the innards of the amp. it had some awesome features like fuses blowing up every other day no matter what. i still kick myself in the ass for that one

Ain't that the truth... Preach it brother Bill :happy055:

And there's a ton of truth there too... You know that although the retailer may have to advertise it at MSRP doesn't mean they have to sell it at that.
Many manufacturing companies have rules about advertising below MSRP and an authorized dealer can lose his license to sell the equipment by doing it... but they are always allowed flexability in the sell for price ;)
