Yeah I was thinkin the same thing when I was reading it... Either that or you're renting out a room and not a whole apartment. If it's not your mom...
Then it's just stupid.
Most apartments request a notice if you will be having someone for longer than 1 week (i.e. one of your friends or relatives comes for a 2 week vacation), but to not allow ANY overnight stays... All I can say is that you need to be looking for a different apartment/ house.

By the way, if it's not clearly stated in the rental agreement that you'll have to sign, then they can't enforce it.

Ya this landlord would have me thinking if I really wanted to live there. They seem the type from what you said, that would use every and any little thing against you, to make you move if they wanted too, And also make it so you forfeit any first/last month, or make up 'damages' that you have to pay etc.

reminds me of my college dorms. i had to tell them if some one was staying and was only allowed to have people overnight 7 times a semester or quarter maybe i dont remember exactly. i could also only have 1 12 pack of beer max in my room so i drank all around campus instead.
ive never had a landlord like that though. usually up here all they say is no growing pot or meth labs cuz ill get in trouble too.
