Maybe the RCA is pinched/damaged somewhere along the line.
Did you run it through any sharp metal areas?
ANother reason to use a gromet (Like thru the firewall).

When you switch up the RCAs does the other one get louder?

If the same speaker remains quiet when the RCAs are flipped it either the speaker or the amp.
Switch the leads on the amp and let us know what happens...

i know what you mean but im almost 100% its neither.Ryan from Ohio wrote:If the same speaker remains quiet when the RCAs are flipped it either the speaker or the amp.

i had the amp tested last weekend and it was fine...and i know its not the speaker because..
I had the same exact problem about a week ago except the left speaker was loud and right was quiet.
the only reason i feel like one is playing louder is because I got my back 6x9s hooked up through the HU and they are almost silent when the front speaker is blaring.
frustrating, ive been talking back and forth for over a week now with the JL tech support trying to figure out if its a problem with the amp and RCA setup
(because im sending a mono signal because its bridged I have to use RCA Y splitters and select 4ch mode, some silly steps like that)
another weird thing that *might* have something to do with it...
the right front speaker (or tweeter is all i can hear of it) but it is giving feedback. now there are no RCAs to the amp, and the fade is all the way to the back, so its not getting a signal, but it still emits a loud feedback fuzz like if you were to hit pause and turn your speakers all the way up. Know what i mean?
not sure why that is.
