Just a word of advice.... even though people say amps can handle so and so low ohm loads but arent rated/warrantied for it, dont do it for daily use. Cause really, the manufacturer has them rated where they are for a reason... to keep the amp safe and not break. And in case anything happens, you are efed. If anything, only run at lower ohm loads for burping if you know what you are doing.

i only planned on running it at a 1 ohm load, but i thought that it would be a major plus if it could run lower, for events, and for daily driving. If i run it at 1 ohm but it has the ability to do half that, id be in a fairly safe zone. Also the DDz1 im looking at those, are they in the same ball park with the 200.1? I need that kind of power ive decided. ANd the ddz1 says it has the ability to run on a stock electrical system. Im sorry but how can an amp rated at 3000 rms do this? Im guessing its marketing and how big of an alternator should i use to run amps of these sizes? Any other amps in this range and decent to great price would be aprreciated. I dont really like the hi fonics amps a whole lot. Im gonna run alot of power but i want good quality sq power. it is a daily driver set up, i jsut want the ability to drop jaws every now and then.

the whole VFL line of amps are monsters. i personally think a 200.1 is a bit much for a daily system. for competitions, awesome. you're seriously talking 2.5-3k at 1ohm. and yes, the whole line of amps you can run at 1/2ohm daily.

ive only got a 120 under the hood right now. and all this wont be going in for a couple months, I want to have everything i need sitting here for one big install. And that will give me lots of time to build the ideal box, im not gonna rush myself through it.

Even though you dont like Hifonics.... look at the Autotek Mean Machine amps. Those are some nice amps, and they are efficient. Probably a MM3000.1 would suit you well. With 2-3000rms... i would suggest atleast a 200amp. The bigger the better.... why skimp out on something as important as a charging system which powers everything!!
