u need to pick up the latest edition of motor trend then. and im talking stock cars. putting a tuner viper against a stock vette is a little screwy. but u take you viper to hennessy and ill take the vette to ligenfelter and well see who comes out on top just like last timeCaptainPioneer wrote:Well Bill I think i have you on this one... Ill take a Hennesey Viper and it will most certainly catch it... if not smoke the crap outta it...
+1 vette

the thing is Bill I wouldnt pay $100k and up for a Corvette when i could easily take my 2001 Viper to Hennessey and they will blow it over to 900+ hp for less... Its just plain and simple math... I mean my cuz had his 2002 Camaro sent to SLP for performance upgrades and what not... Thats still American... One thing is for sure, If Corvette is coming out with a stock 650hp Vette, Dodge will come along and most likely match or beat that mark, Based of course on History

hahah well if i ever have the money for that your on. Ive seen some wicked Vettes in my day, and ive definitely seen some great Vipers, I have no doubt though that for $100 K if you were to put that new Corvette up against even a 2004 viper srt10 with moderate Hennessey tuning the Viper would do much more in a test run then the Vette, For $100k it just seems like you could spend your money better. Thats probably why i will never buy a Viper

Oh, i loved the first Viper's over these past few years vipers. I thought the first gen's had a unique and very sweet look to them. They origionally tried to base them off of the Shelby Daytona Cobra. Then they modernized everything, and they didnt look all that great and they only came with a soft top. I liked the hard top vipers a lot better.

as do I. Have you ever driven one before? I had a History Teacher in HS that let me drive hers... She is 50yrs old and still races in the GT-6 Class with her modded Mazda RX-7... and wins quite a bit... Her Viper, she bought it used in Florida for i think like $32k and it is absolutely beautiful... Silver with the 19" in the front and the super wide 20" rims in the rear, Center Exhaust and bubble top hard top with the Black stripes down the front... It was the most exciting car i have ever driven, If you get on the gas too much in 1st or second gear the rear end just spins and cuts loose. Its amazing though.
