I would personally go with the Pioneer over the Alpine. Whichever Pioneer you choose is up to you. The 6800 will have a bit more features(the pioneer website can tell you exactly). One thing I would reccommend is to go with a Premeir deck. They are exactly the same, but with higher pre-out voltage and a 2-year warranty(as opposed to a 1-year). Unless you are doing to use the Alpine for the DVD player, pass on that Alpine. One thing is certain though, you WILL get more audio features with a Pioneer than a new Alpine.

the red premier deck... is grey and red... so it matches my trucks interior ( grey ) and exterior (red)
thats why i think it would look cool... my friend also has it in his car...
i think im gonna go see if they have it at best buy tomorow so i can get a free install... maybe they will put some high frequency filters in while they are at it : )
thats a bad idea.....you are gonna find yourself paying like 30 dollars for a 10 dollar install kit and over 20 bucks for an 8 dollar wiring kit because they dont include those things in their "free" installation......also those high frequency filters that you want are basically 6 db per octave high pass filters which need to be installed at the speakers themselves, installing them at the head unit near your radios power leads creates an electromagnetic affect and will cause problems ranging from distortion and engine noise to limited volume..........when those best buy installs roll through my shop with problems i always yank the radio and pull out their installers edge filters and it fixes the problem every time......its an easy add on that seams like it is gonna help but it creates a ton of problems if its done wrong....and really you gotta figure that off head unit power your are probably giving up 5-10% of the available power to push the signal through those things....

I know all about ApexAudio and no they are up here in Ohio, not too far from me. 2 words "stay away!" sounds like really good prices, but takes forever to ship like 16 to 20 weeks and they have NO customer service... I had a dealer account with them and could never get a phone call or an email back... I finally broke down and drove out there and it's just a big pole barn in the middle of no where and even though in my dealer account paperwork they said they were open from this hour to this time... nobody was there and no be back time... so I dropped them on that last straw, but now a few years later I still hear horror stories about them.brtnboarder3241 wrote:has anyone ever heard of http://www.apex-audio.com ?darthess they are in sc..
You wanna spend your money... buy stuff from authorized dealer (like smoker and myself, along with many others) otherwise ebay is a great place if you don't care about warranties, but as always with many companies that claim wonderful things at wonderful prices... Buyer beware.
