I'm a former Fusion dealer, and I must say I was "underwhelmed" by almost everything in their product line... and not surprisingly found that they were also quite slow sellers.

Even their SPL subwoofers were disappointing - we gained 8dB by swapping out the Fancy Fusion SPL subs with their field-replacable (not really ) cone units with - get this - CDT audio SPL competition subs (cough - MA Audio - cough).

If you can get a deal on them, they may rank high on the "bang for the buck" scale - but I certainly wouldn't see them winning any SQ competitions anytime soon.

...if there are any aspiring Fusion dealers out there, I know where you can get a big green fiberglass Fusion display unit with speaker switching and three subwoofer locations, HU locations, etc... truck shipping only since it weighs seriously probably about 500 pounds. The shop doesn't want it since they gave up on Fusion.

Now THAT is sad. I haven't seen CDT successful in hardly any form of competition lol

I actually said CDT when I meant Clif Designs, believe it or not...
CDT makes nice stuff, nice components - Clif Designs used to - now owned by the Anaba group, and largely it is a clone of the MA Audio and Visonik.

Clif Designs competition subs, that's what we swapped in. They cost about 1/3 of what the Fusion subs cost...
And get this:

I thermalled one of the Fusion subs, and it was a pain in the butt to recone actually (I had to solder all my leads ).
We were running two huge 4000w (supposedly) Clif Designs competition amps - a good amount of power for sure.

We swapped in two of those Clif Designs subs - cheap and ultimately disposable - and brought two extras with us to the competition we went to. Our plan was, after our main runs were done, and we had the chance to go back up just for extra chances to improve on our SPL score (Moe Sabourin let everyone have some "fun runs" if they wanted), we were going to just let the system rip - gains fully cranked, volume peaked, and see how many seconds they would last before dying.

The Clif Designs subs held up, we didn't blow any of them - didn't have to replace any of them with the extras we brought with us.

So that REALLY made us wonder about those Fusion competition subs.

Actually, truth be told, I was pretty darn impressed by those Clif Designs competition subs, for use actually as SPL competition subs, they worked damn nice...

Hate to break it to ya Geo... but Fusion is an whole new animal now...
They revamped the whole line up and all I can say is WOW!

True the old Fusion stuff was only good for the price, but now it's a whole new game.
And Yeah I used to deal in Cliff Designs till they got bought out and then I figured I might as well sell the MA line... Better known for the same stuff.

Ahhh, the has-beens. Gotcha. Far too many of those types floating around.

Yeah, CDT makes some pretty good stuff, though their higher end (read: most expensive) components don't really tickle my pickle. Too much bread to spit out for some modified mid-fi Vifa drivers, though they are implemented well I just feel they're underperformers.
