My solution to that was working a physically intensive job. I was a stock boy for a grocery for almost 3 years. I was in pretty decent shape toward the end. Now with this sit-all-day-long job, I'm as puffy as ever! :bigwink:

Yeah, thats the way to do it. Ignore all the garbage about atkins/south beach/ exotic name diet, they dont work. If people just worked hard at it, cut calories and exercissed, they will lsoe weight. In Aug of 04 I was 210 lbs, now I am 140, and can do 25 pull ups, all bc I cut back calories and worked out, its simple, you just have to be motivated.

Congrats! Yeah people think losing weight is some mysterious formula and complicated system, when all they need to do is learn a little biology. All you have to do is burn more calories then you eat.

Although I love the people who say you can lose 10lbs in a week. Maybe you can lose 10lbs of water, but here's a few #'s for ya.
approx 3,500 calories = 1lb of fat.
To lose a pound of fat a week you have to either cut back on 500calories a day for a week or burn an extra 500/day for a week.
That's to lose 1lb/week. To lose ten pounds of fat in a week, you would have to eat 5,000 less calories a day (obviously impossible, you have to eat over 1,200 or your body will not allow you to lose fat, as it thinks it's starving and holds onto fat)

OR

you would have to burn an extra 5,000 calories/day. Now I do boxing, and it's been evaluated that an hour of intense boxing training can burn up to 1,000 calories. An hour of that absolutely kills me, and doing it five times a day? Good gravy, I'm sure someone could do it for one day, but I doubt 7days in a row, especially someone looking to lose 10lbs in a week!

Of course you could eat 1,000 less calories and then burn 4,000, just as long as they equal 5,000. Anyways completely off on a tangent but any reason for me to share that info. :)

Congrats again! Back in 8th grade I was like 5' 6" 230lbs and Freshman year I lost 45lbs in a few months and just felt great, couldn't believe how big I used to be...it feels great doesn't it? Can't take a healthy body for granted.

The only problems I have is with home made bread... God I love it! My grandma came over for dinner and brought a big pan of it, I wanted to sneak it under my shirt and go running into the woods... but I didnt! :( :mecry:

buring more than you eat is the hard thign.i don't have time to be at the gym for 2-3 hours a day... 45 minutes is tough enough on most days.
