Around here the cops dont care at all. I'm pretty sure their more concerned about the huge meth problem we have. Ha, you might of seen some of the stories on dateline about franklin county missouri, thats where I be. :argh

the problem is I can hear a factory deck at reasonable levels in a car from 25 feet, easily.
I can hear my mother in her SUV from 25 feet when she plays the radio.
You don't want to know from how many blocks away you can hear my 440 coming.. even with the radio off.

point is, 25 feet is a little overboard. 50 feet I could handle, if they can prove it objectively with some sort of recording and meter displayed on video, similar to proving a speeding violation.

If the cop approaches the car and sees an alpine deck, he could otherwise cite you merely to be an ass, without any proof.

I don't think there's anything like that where I am. Car audio isn't near the level where I live as it is in the states. The red necks with their hick-ups are more likely to be busted for noise pollution than car audio fans.

Im the same way Darthness. And on the exhaust note: I've had an exhaust set off my Shock Sensor numerous times at work...but never had a system do that.

St.louis county is trying to pass a new law to where they give you a 250 dollar fine, impound your car, and take your stereo equiment. right now the fine is set at 100.00.

We should have a sticky at the top stating you local areas laws? maybe?
