No, little cheaper I think. They are made to start cars, where the Yellow ones are made as accessory batteries. Not as many CCA, not really made to start a car.

yea you add yellows in the back for acc. power the reds are better under the hood

I have a yellow top and 770cca. The red top was the same...now the Yellowtops are also starter batteries as well as deep cycle.

Some yellow tops are deep cycle for use as starting also.
Some are just "marine" deep cycles...
I think they have a blue marine also...

Well, you can use any battery as a starter battery as long as it provides enough current.
I had a rule of thumb for Optima colors:
Red - starter/primary battery
Yellow - extra audio only battery
blue - marine
