and who makes the boxes?
local audio shop?
on the net?
and why would they sound so much better if the prefab and the custom were the same size and volume etc.

local shop can make it.. a guy on toyotanation.com named marv makes great boxes i hear.. you can even make one..
prefabs are exactly what they are called.. prefabricated.. i guess u can say they dont have the "love" a custom box would have. ie: good clean cuts, no stripping of the screws, predrilling the holes for the screws, sealing up the inside real good.. small stuff like that make a great box.

is u got one of those shipped it wouldnt be worth gettting it from somewhere outside your area tho they cost a TON to get shipped

i generally agree with this but scosche makes some real nice, very well constructed prefabs....and the sizes are right...their 12" box is 1.25 cubic ft. per side.......

are you sure smoker cause i use to get prefabs from scosche and they were complete shit. really they were i still got one and i cant pawn it off.

the ones we have are pretty sweet......they are just right for the comp 12 and so far no probs....the only thing about them i think is funny is that they come wired for those spinner grills they sell.....the ones we get from them are mdf,grooved,glued and stapled and for prefab they seem real nice...granted i could build a better one and i always recommend that as the best route to go but the majority of people want quick and easy...who do you get yours through now?
