I owned one up till about a year ago... Had it for 5 years... Trust me I know.

if you read the bottom it says....sorry none of the component speakers we sell fits your vehicle.......HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHA!!!!!!!!! if i can get 6.5" concert series in the front door of an 01 mustang i can get comps in a monte.............

How would I get 6.5's in the door panels without modifing the door panels there is almost no room behind them.
What would I do to get them to fit, also would the magnet get in the way of the power window?. I would really appreciate a basic idea on how I would install them & still be able to get the door panel back on.
I know I could get them to fit if I cut up the panel but I really don't want to do that because I'm a begginer & would more than likely ruin them .
If any of you guys could help me I would really appreciate it! :excited:

Buy 5 1/4's

Theres only like 3/16" between the platics houseing that holds the speaker and the plstic door panel.

Use 5 1/4's or cut the door panel/plastic up...

wellto start you need to figure out how deep you can go and then get a speaker that accomodates your needs. then make a thin baffle to mount that speaker to by tracing your factory speaker on to the material and then adding any extra you need for the new speaker...also watch the clearance between the front of the speaker and the door panel itself....really though if your factory speaker is 5 1/4 i would just bolt a set of 5 1/4 in there until you get more experience...stuffing a larger speaker into a door while having the panel fit and the window go up and down can sometimes be a pain in the neck and if you dont have the right tools, experience and patience.......

How much difference in sound between 5.25 & 6.5's would it be worth cutting the panels for the 6.5's.
Is there somewhere I could get a tutorial on modifing door panels because I've never done it before.
