Well I just pulled the deck, and the RCAs were tight, and I couldn't find anything they could be grounding out to. I even shot thru them to see if they had been pinched, and they shot good. (no short between the innerconductor, and the sheilding, and they both shot good conductivity)

Well of to work I go, I will see if I can get it to fail on my way to work. Dang thang didn't cut of once this morning.

I think its raven's (my cars) time of the month. My stereo in the S10 would shut off about once a year, and then would come back on. I shot every wire and conection in that truck and never found out why. I still to this day don't know what caused it, but about once a year the radio would loose all volume control. All I had to do is hit the reset button on the deck and it would work fine for another year. Thats when I decided my truck was a girl. Cause the only reason I could think of was that, she was being moody, or it was her time of the year.

I had the very EXACT same problem. Bump, then off, bump then on.

For me, it was a bad ground. It wasn't bolted down properly and their was still little pieces of paint that I was to lazy to strip off.

I assume the connections inside the sub box are nice n' tight, but check again.

No I don't sit in emp feilds. But that giant radar dish right next to my work kinda worries me.

Ok back to the subject. I fixed it, not sure how, but it is gone. Drove all day without a problem. The only thing I did was tape off the rca leads (eclipse has leads comming from the deck, not the RCAs attatched to the chassy) Other than that I didn't really change anything. Disconected and reconected a few wires but that is it. Oh well at least its gone. Thanks for the help.

And two days later the problem is back. It didn't act up at all till today. Ran over a speed bumb, and sub goes off again. I really don't think its the sub, I pushed it pretty hard the last 2 days, and it never faltered once. So I will get into it more tommorow and see what I can find.

Well I found the problem. I went thru and rechecked every power wire, and conection. Didn't find anything. So I ran it for about an hour, and started putting everything back together. Well I was on my way to the car wash, and it did it again. (!@#$ !@#$%) So I stoped, walked to the trunk, and placed three firm (ok it was damn hard) hits on my sub amp. DING, last hit was right above the speaker conections, and the sub cam back on. Checked the wires, and as before they were good, so it has to be internal to the amp.

Well I am off to email JL. I will let you know how it goes.
