Here are the specs on my subwoofer.. What do you suggest is the best way to run this amp.. I see that it is dual 4ohm and by what you said before, I cannot bridge the amp.. How would you run 1 channel and get the full 300 watts? Is there a specific crossover or eq that I need in order to really reap the benefits? Please let me know how you would do the installation if it were your amp and wanted to get the most power and bass out of it?

you will get 300 watts per channel at 2 ohms and 150 per channel at 4ohms, you already have the power you need for it on 1 channel and leave the other one open or get another sub and have 2 ran off of it. if you get an aftermarket deck you dont need a crossover/eq because now 90% have most of the stuff you need.

I have no choice but to use my factory headunit because it is a leased car.. Will my sub work at 2 ohm or 4 ohm? I am running a line out converter from my Monsoon amp that comes stock with the Jetta.. How would I just run 1 channel on this amp? Do I just plug 1 rca in from the converter or both and just hook the speaker to 1 side. Or do I hook left and right to the speaker in a negative-negative, positive, positive configuration? What kind of crossover should I use for I have no choice?

you can throw an aftermarket deck into a leasedcar you just use an install wireing harness so you dont hack it up and just take it back out when the lease is up. the sub 2ohm. you use a pair of rca's a left and right.

I know you don't want to hear this, but you really really need an aftermarket deck. What your doing it tring to take a poorly amplified siginal, tune it down with a line out converter, and then reamplify it. Its not a good combo, trust us on this.

Here is a good analogy for you.
take a pile of poop, cut it in half, and add water. You still have poop, but now its runny. Probably not the result you were looking for.

Honestly an aftermarket deck will save you money, and give you way better results. Any time you are dealing with a car with factory amps (the monson system) your always better of with an aftermarket deck.

simple fact is you can't run a single 4 ohm DVC sub on that Orion amp without buying a low pass filter, and without running the amp at 4 ohms stereo.
the amp isn't 2 ohm stable when bridged, and you can't get two ohms stereo from a 4 ohm DVC sub on a 2 channel amp.

you just bought the wrong gear. you need a dual 2 ohm sub in order to use that amp, or you need to go buy a class D mono amp for that sub you have now.

end of story.

by the way, buying a modern class D mono amp, the amp will have its own low pass crossover built into it, unlike the old Orion.

any way you look at it you need to go spend some money to get this all to work.
