I think the main problem with them is the coil being too close to the magnet. While that does increase efficiency, it makes it too fragile.

The flat cones were not prototypes.

they were originally when they were reviewed by M.E. Mag. and at that time you could still purchase them-as prototypes.

i stand corrected. the prototypes were the av2 that were advertised in CS&P last year. i guess the e12A's SHOULD have been prototypes for a bit longer. and to think i went through so much attempting to find some.
