Yeah JL Audio makes some stealth boxes that fire backwards in the center console of f-150's with buckets seats.deathbeckonsu wrote:yeah thats another option, but the racing seats add a lil flare and r only 100 a piece, dunno yet.

Show me where a 2500d is 200 and i'll buy it right now.KikiTheCat wrote:the Orion 2500D is ~$200 on eBay. I forgot to mention that. If you want a cheaper model, there's the 1200D as well, which is plenty of power for a single XXX or two Atlas subs.
This is true... it sounds nice, but its far from an SPL woofer.the XXX isn't the loudest sub around, but it's on par with a W7, Brahma, etc.. in the SQL market. 32mm Xmax, XBL^2 motor design, very flexible for enclosure choices, and a very very clean, accurate sub that still delivers a lot of output.
It's a very good balance between pue SQ and a load of SPL. Not the best in the world for either one, but very formidable in either field.
If you build the box properly, you dont need bracing... bracing will hurt SPL. A doubled up baffle is only needed in some designs, but is generally preferred anyway.one drawback is the size. the 12" weighs in at about 60lbs for a single speaker, which means you need a reinforced box, with a doubled up front panel to support the speaker, and you want internal cross bracing for structural support due to the forces that sub can exert on the box with over a kilowatt of juice going to it.
http://www.realmofexcursion.com has a video or two of the XXX in action worth taking a peek at :)
