How many layers of fiberglass on doorpods?

You need to use enough layers so the sides of the enclosure are rigid (and sealed!) - you don't want the fiberglass to move when it's under pressure. Usually 3 layers makes a good, rigid enclosure.

3 layer is overkill for for a mid. Way overkill. What kind of pressures do you think a mid is able to produce? Even huge SPL cars barely produce a few PSI. if you use extremely thin light weight mat maybe 3 layers would be needed. Most fiberglass boats arnt even 3 layers.
