Higher frequency audio does far more damage to your ears than low frequency :)

as far as sound goes . it's has a clear & crsip sound to it . i want to change out the 6.5 door speakers to the lanzar 8" 3-ways . my car had the BOSE system in it with the 8" door speakers . no mod will be needed for that upgrade

When we put it on the meter we where just wondering what the #'s would be . the shop owner and couple other people that was there wrote down what we thought it was gonna hit . i was over a lil' bit . they(THE SHOP OWNER) hold cars shows during the year so when me and my wife have a chance we take both our cars . i do show&shine and she does the sound off (SPL) .

Also be aware that throwing a 3-way component system into factory locations in a car usually turns out poorly. With a 3-way system, you really need the driver positioning to be just right to get the desired result.
Just some food for thought. Who knows? Maybe the factory locations will work out. The midbass driver isn't the problem so much as the midrange and tweeter will be for alignment. After that, you'll need a signal processor or head unit that can handle time alighment, and so forth to adjust the system, and most likely, a 1/3 octave EQ for each channel to tweak everything to get a decent sound curve.

3-way systems are tricky.

Also, Bill, that's simply because the human hearing range is less sensitive to low frequencies. Anything over 110dB for a prolonged period can still cause hearing loss.

That may be true, but in the end if you buy 10 Lbs of manure you have 10 Lbs of crap...

What kind of budget do you have?

If your on a budget then 3 way is not the way to go.

Use the same amout on money on a better 2 way set.

Oh and just cause your car has 8s from factory, does not always mean you won't have to mod anything to make another 8 fit.

So make sure you have the depth, and room for a custom built mounting ring. If you plan on listening at high volume, you don't want your mid mounted strait to the metal on the door.

If you plan to go 3-way in front, be prepared to spend $1000+ USD on the front speaker set alone, then the amplifier for it, and custom work for mounting.
There are no "good" 3-way sets "on the cheap."

You can get a very good set of 2-way separates though, for under $300.

i was at one time running 2 sets of tweets . 1 set was in the stock location in my doors and the other was just over my rear view mirror . i did some test before i mounted them there . what i came up with is it worked great for giving me what i call a suround sound a helped alot when i had the top down . but one of the tweeters went out so i took them both down plan on getting some more and doing the same trick again
