Havent seen the 11 Mustang yet.
Untill the Challenger came out I liked the New body Mustang by far the best of any mustang made, coming in second were the Fox bodies.
I love the way the 60's and 70's are coming back around. Back then it was the big 3. Chevy Chrsyler and Ford, now it is again.
I saw in Motor trend or Car and driver that the camaro nosed out on horsepower by quite a bit.(Until the specs of the 11 mustang came to light). But I still give my nod to the challenger, if I ever get one it will be the big un. I just hope they throw me in a set of tires LOL.

Yeah, we need the big three to keep challenging each other. I just hope that gm and chrysler don't go under.

I will say dodge has the best looking full size truck out of the three. GM just effed the exterior and every time I look at them I :unwell028 .

'10 ChallengerPrice :$22,735
3.5-liter V6 that makes 250 hp and 250 pound-feet of torque, No manual trans option (that I could find), EPA-estimated 17 mpg city/25 mpg highway.
'10 Camaro Price: $22,680
Engine, 3.6L Variable Valve Timing V6 with SIDI that makes 300 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque , 6-Speed Manual transmission, 17 mpg city/26 highway.
'11 Mustang Price $???????
3.7-liter version of the all-aluminum, 60-degree Duratec V6, 305 hp and 280 pound-feet of torque, 18 mpg city/29 mpg highway Manual, 19 mpg city and 30 mpg on the highway (auto).
I'm going to assume the challenger and camaros options will stay the same for '11. I'm also going to assume the mustang will be priced to compete with the the challengers and camaros.
Out of the 3 the mustang is lighter, makes more power, gets better gas mileage, and it wouldn't surprise me if it were cheaper as well.
I still don't have enough information on the gt mustang to compare it with the other models, so this is just comparing the base models.
I will say this, I think the v8 versions will be VERY competitive with each other. The HP race is ON!
why compare the v6's? the v8's are where its at, if i ever buy a retro it will only be a v8. the srt8, the ss and the gt. if im correct the ss is the power house?

Check out the new Challenger SRT8 6-speed manual.
It's a new beast.

Also, the Mustang is still LRA, so no matter how much power it has, it still can't turn :)
oh, and it's still a ford.

How well does your charger turn? :D

The mustang is more of a straight line muscle car. Look at all the cobra guys who had the IRS, then switched over to a LRA. :words

Chevy vs Ford vs Mopar is about the second most boring interweb argument in history. Drive what you like and STFU.

re: the OP, it's 390lb-ft for the V8, and the Poopstang is a pony car, not a muscle car.
Comparing a comdern car to a 40+ year old midsize fastback seems a bit silly.
Besides, my car is purpose built for straight line, the Stang isn't.

also: still a ford.

The point is, if you buy a stock mustang because you want a corner carver you're an idiot. The mustang can be built to handle well, but that's not really it's purpose from the factory. Most mustang guys are more concerned with straight line performance.

Well just have to wait and see what the '11 models brings, but if the gt is going to have 400+ hp, what do you think the gt500's will have? And the gt500's are evil with just a few mods... Just things to think about.
