a digital multi-meter would answer all of your questions. put it on ac volts to check if there is anything coming out of your amp, and check the resistivity of the woofers to make sure the coil isn't f'd up

Yeah, just figured there was a possibility of you switching them accidentally during your first check of the entire system. It happens.
