you should be able to get a nice set of midbasses for 180.00. Are you looking at the CDT's or are you still shopping?

dayton rs180s make a decent midbass... i have a pair in my doors at the moment with an HP of 65hz, and they are pretty decent. I'd imagine in the rear you could cross them between 80hz and 300 hz with pretty decent results.

the 8" daytons would probably make an even better midbass...

I wouldnt pay $170 for a set of CDT CL series. Maybe $100, no way would I pay $200... lolz

Ive had the classic mid bass's you can buy them seperate. They were ok, but not THAT good.

You could buy the Cadence CLV's for about $170ish and have some nicer comps... For the front of course...

For the rears I wouldnt hesitate to try the daytons listed.

They got a lot to choose from. Just watch the Ohms.

A friend of mine has a set of CDT CL series... I'd say they are nice midrange - but the mid bass authority doesn't match that of my daytons. If you are looking for dedicated mid bass, stray away from the CL series.

I'd also consider some Peerless SLS or XLS drivers.

great minds really do think alike. I had in my mind to recommend the daytons from parts express also. Don't know how he feels about JL Audio but they have some pretty decent midbass, they also have a pretty high price tag.

I have searched and researched and I wouldn't mind trying the Daytons, myself.

i'm up to $250.00 and even more confused, i have looked at so many midbass speakers and my brain is fried, by the end of the week i'll have around $400.00 so maby i can do a nice set of front components and rear midbass and sell my db6500s for some other stuff.

choices, choices??

I'd definitely recommend the Daytons... You should be able to just go affordable on the midbass for the rears and spend a lil extra on the new comps for the front.

Like anything else theres always that little bit better of a product for a bit more money.

If your budget is growing substantial I would hold off until you have a firm price set.

In about 2-3 weeks next years models should be hitting, so this years stuff tends to sell for less. Stores want to move products as after Dec 31 they have to pay tax on anything on shelves. So maybe have a quick look at various online sites.
