You should have seen the Blizzards of the late 70's... Everything was closed in the Blizzard of 78 including the Ohio Turnpike (was the first complete closing of the whole turnpike ever).
I was actually out in it and although it sucked for so many people we were actually kinda happy, cause we (My father, His buddy, and I) were picking up people and taking them to the hospitals (patients, nurses, doctors) and back home... Some of the small grocers that were able to get open were giving the food away to the people that could get there, so we did a lot of pick up and drop offs of food too... Obviously you had to have a big truck to get through this as many of the plow trucks couldn't even make it through... I believe (if memory serves me right) that my dad's buddies truck (which is what we used) was a 76 Blazer with a 12" lift and 36 or 38" mudders (maybe even 40"s... that much I don't quite recall) on it... But it and us armed with shovels and bags of sand/ kitty litter mixture was good enough to get us where we needed to go.

Either way... Ice storms suck! We've had plenty of those too, so I wish you well and maybe it won't be as bad as they're predicting.

I remember about 10 years back we got a little over 2ft (alot for us) with snow drifts 3+ ft deep.

My uncle just finished building this bad ass late 70's dodge power wagon, club cab, built 440, gears and limit slip diffs, 44" tires, lift (dont remember the specs), ect...

Anyways, he decides that we should try it out. So he picks me up and we start the old back roads playing around. Well it was windy and the snow drifts were 3' + on the roads.

Long story short, we come up to a plow that stuck. We pull him out just as another truck shows up, so we're now in between the two, both manage to get stuck right off the bat. So now were stuck between to stuck plows and its starting to get dark..

Long story short my uncle tries to pass one of the stuck plows thru the ditch and burries his truck. So now were all three stuck, for about 2 hours until a road grader came and pulled EVERYONE out...

Haha, the following spring we tore the transmission out playing in the mud...

Well it's good to see that you're in high spirits.

And yeah we've had our share of snow up here... heck 2 winters ago when we had the Buick builds it just started snowing Friday evening when Bill showed up and by morning we had like 18" and through the day about another 2-4"... Luckily by Sunday afternoon when Bill had to drive back they had the Highways cleared.

I'm not that worried about it...

We've got a lot of extra blankets... I actually sleep like a baby when its really cold, it'll just blow (or not:happy055 :) having to sleep without a fan on....

If things get to horrible, my uncle has a generator and burns wood heat...
