Does it do it every time? and is it a manual shift I assume?

Well it could be a few different things:
1) Worn Clutch
2) You could have glazing on the clutch plate... meaning it has to search for grab
3) slightly warped pressure plate or flywheel
4) something on the surface of any one or more (clutch, pressure plate, flywheel) to make it it smoother in spots (like grease or oil)
5) worn or loose transaxle mounts
These are what I can think of off the top of my head that I'd check first... so basically check the mounts and then move to inspecting the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel... Oh and If they are out of alignment that could've caused those clutch problems to develop.

timing is fine and i just replaced wires and plugs that did help with the stuttering just not all the way
but today i have a new problem
car ran fine last night started fine everything
then this morning it doesnt want to start
getting fuel air and spark it just wont start ive checked everything i know to check it just wont start. i did notice the plugs in 3 and 4 were kinda dirty but it should start it just doesnt. is there a way to get codes of this with a jumper like my chevys and toyotas. rotor is fine cap is fine checked then rechecked the timing all is well there tried different battery checked fuel pump and filter. checked the injectors they seem fine checked all fuses and every electrical connection it just doesnt start i dont get it it was running fine other than the stuttering. i started it last night at about 10 drove came home turned it off then at 8 this morning it wouldnt start
its the 1988 honda civic wagon i think they were called wagovans with the 1.5 liter engine. anyone got any ideas?

the best thing a man can do is to teach his son how to fish. http://www.google.com, there is the fishing pole son, now go fishing :)
