What's going on tonight?
I'm attempting to wear out my Pink Floyd Pulse DVD. :) My wfie headed down south for a baby shower so I get to crank my stereo without any bitching. I love this DVD. I think of all my 500+ DVDs, this is probably my favorite.
I've been pondering the system that will one day grace my car for several months now, since I got the car really. I'm not big on video in a car. The only incentive I have to put a DVD player and screen in my car is to watch this DVD with it's amazing audio in my car.
The first time I played this for my wife, I couldn't get her to watch it. She didn't like it. Since then, she's had me burn several Pink Floyd CDs for her to listen to in her car and at work. Her son, 5 years old, loves "Shine on You Crazy Diamond," and seveal others. He knows when the plane crashes and when the pigs come out. lol. I think he can sing the entire Pulse set in the typical mumbly 5-year-old voice.
Anyway, I'm kinda bored out of my mind without the wife or kid here. At least I have Jack, and David Gilmore.

Well myself... We've had the grandkids all day... I love playin with them, especially when it's nice out like it was today, but Man am I glad I get to send em home... I'm Pooped
As for your in car entertainment, why not look into a single din dvd/- h/u and the just add 1 or 2 visor screens... this way you still have the set up you want, but still have the ability to play your favorite lil dvd there too.

Grand kids ... I didn't take you for being that old. Wait a minute ... I could be having grand kids in the next couple years ...
As for my car ... I've got a double din slot. What I'd really like to do, but I don't want to spend the money on, is a double din in dash screen with built in HDD, then run the 701 controller in the center console or something. Only because I think the double din screen would look phat in my dash ... did I just date myself? Anyway, the cheaper way to go looks to be a flip out with the 701 control under it. Either way, I need to fill the 2din whole because the useless little cup thing looks retarded.

I think Pink Floyd Pulse will be my determining audio test for all future systems ... if Pulse sounds good ... the system is good to go. If not ... try try again.
Also, Van Morisson and Steely Dan need to sound good. It's kinda funny, I'm not that much into the rap/R&B as I used to be, although I do drive around listening to Lil Flip, Paul Wall, Micheal Watts, Swisha House, etc. Either that or the Bee Gees, Aerosmith or maybe Keith Sweat or Sade. Perhaps some Stevie Ray Vaughn or maybe Flim and the BBs. My musical palet is quite diverse.
CD 1 is over ... again. Time for disc 2 ... again. Man I love Pink Floyd ... and Jack Daniels. :)

1) I crash out early, cause I have to be up at 3am for my morning p/t job... so I was home, but asleep.
2) Yeah, I'm the oldest member of the board... nobody knows my age... even my close friends and most of my relatives have forgotten, since I don't celebrate b-days anymore... I ignore them cuz I'd rather stay acting young
My oldest daughter just had her 28th b-day yesterday and my grand daughter turned 3 the day before.
3) The double din is why I mentioned just adding a single din dvd, below your h/u... This way you can have whatever h/u you want and then just add in dvd for when you want it... just a more cost efficient option :)

yeah, I don't know what I'm going to do. I had hoped to have my system in before I left for the Stan, but that's not looking like it's going to happen. However, I'll be in a tax free zone making hazardous duty pay, dislocation allowance and family seperation pay. I should be able to buy my system when I get back. If the wife hasn't spent all the money on something else.
I don't act my age very well either ... what ever that means. It's just something I hear from time to time.
