what about the silk seas, these here
http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index. ... 8&pid=2136
i've alway heard that metal tweets are harsh....the only reason i'm lookin at the cadence comps is because i thought maybe the mids would be an improvement over my cl61a mids, the cl61a set i have i bought from the zeb like 4 years ago,so it's probably time to upgrade anyhow

You can generalize like that, but today's metals aren't like they used to be. Especially those.

A whole bunch of opinions on it.

You'll pay the same amount to get that set and the tweeters won't be anywhere the quality of those Seas. You've already got the whole set, might as well put some sweet tweets on it. :)
decided to go withe the seas neos, aluminum, and a pair of mach 5 audio mli 65's to replace my cdt's all together

Those SEAS neos are pretty smooth, metal or silk version. I prefer the metal actually.
Metal tweets mainly have their bad rep due to poor design/implementation of the past. Even "high end" ones. There are plenty of bad silk and other types of tweeters out there as well. Some of the worst tweeters I can remember were the old Focal inverted kevlar dome tweeters, ugh. Advances in metallurgy as well as motor design have really helped in that area over the last few years, assuming you're choosing quality equipment of course. It's easier to make a bad sounding metal dome than it is to make a bad sounding silk, the characteristics of the material aren't forgiving.
