Kicker Amp

Post by gaustin229 »

So Ive got 2 12's L5 1200 watts 2 ohm and was wondering what would b the best bet for a kicker amp to go with, w/o messing up the subs. I like the 1200.1 but it says it puts out 600 watts a 2 ohm which i want a little bit more power than that. Then theres the pick b/t the 750.1 and 1000.1 which put out the amount they are at 2 ohm. So which amp should i go w/?

y does it have to be kicker? you could go with the 2500.1 or get 2 amps and gain match them. i would look at the hifonics bxi2006 or an autotek MM2000.1

Your probably not going to get many people on here to say much good about Kicker. However, I for one think Kicker is a great product especially on a budget.

With that said, not for sure what it is exactly you are trying to do? L5's as far as messing up the subs? Not likely! It is hard to blow up a good quality sub of any brand with power alone. DISTORTION KILLS. Focus on a quality signal and you won't have to worry to much about hurting the subs.

Not knowing what kind of box you have or auto you are putting this in, it can play a factor in how much power you need for what you are trying to accomplish.

I am assuming the 1200.1 is the KX which is an older amp but if you can get it at a decent price it is a nice amp. Otherwise the newer ZX series amps are good.

kicker are good amps. If kicker is what you want, then go kicker. But like bill said, there is all this hype on kicker that makes the company annoying. If you want kicker, get some real power like a zx2500.1. But i have personally fallen in love with maxxsonics stuff. The products are awesome and the company rocks.

Just my opinion, but I'd go with a kicker amp before going with their square subs when you take into account that you'll always get a better sound outta a round sub, but that's just me... If you're happy with them and you like kicker then by all means... and as swimmer stated... if you want more power why not just look at the 2500.1, it'll give you more options for expansion down the road.
