The subsonic doesnt really need to be set since the subs are in sealed boxes. But for further reference, the subsonic filter prevents the sub from playing below what it is set at. This is very important for ported enclosures. With a ported enclosure, you dont want the sub playing very loud below its tuning frequency because it will go past its excursion limits. So you will set the subsonic filter a few hz below the tuning frequency.the dawg wrote:Alright, Got the Ascendant Audio 8 inch subs and I installed them in sealed boxes . My question is where should the settings be on my amp(Hifonics BX1000D)?? The adjustment knobs are labeled:subsonic, bass eq, low pass, phase, and level.-----???
The bass eq... leave at zero!!! This will just add to causing distortion and killing your subs and or amp.
The phase... leave at zero. This is used if you have your subs inverted.
The level is the gain. There is a tutorial on this in the FAQ section. Actually, here is the link... http://www.caraudiocentral.net/forums/s ... php?t=6993
