I'm going with the Pioneer P9 combo, myself.
not a feasible option for most, I know.

Thanks for the good info guys. The thing is, is that I will be working with a small budget here. Yeah, I know it's hard to put together a great sounding system for little money, although I'm sure it can be done. I can't really spend more than 200 on a head unit and I want to buy from an autherized dealer.
It seems like everywhere you read they say Kenwood head units are sub par, are they really that bad or do people just not like the Kenwood name? The Kenwood Excelon KDC-X590 has everything I'm looking for but the way people talk about them I am worried about investing in one.

I really recommend staying away from the Kenwood head units. I run the Pioneer DEH-P88RS which is the european version of the 880. I replaced a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X789 and the difference was huge. I'm sure you can scour the web and come across the 880 for a good price, maybe just above $200 or so. Good luck!

Anyone know when the 2007 lines will be comming out? The JVC's look like a good deal but I would like to see what the 07 JVC's and Pioneers are like. Didn't know if the new models come out early in the year or later.
