Have I messed up the front sub hole???

Post by chodecz »

Guys please some advice needed.

I've built a 1.8cuft ported box, but think I rushed the front sub hole and placed it too centre!?

Heres some pics, will the more centre position affect the air flow within the box???...

In a ported box, it should be pretty decent. I think the hole should be off centered in any box, but it really shouldn't make too much of a difference. Pop it in there and find out how it sounds.

Should be fine. I am no guru, but accoustically I do not think it makes much difference. if it does, I would certainly be interested in how it does, and why.

It doesnt need to be on center or anything...

But a nice clean hole is a good hole ;)

I have one in a 2.8 cu ft ported box right now. It's decently loud and it sounds very good. Very good sub for a daily driver if you don't want it too loud but like it to sound good.

You'll be fine with the sound, but if you don't like the look just remake it.
Some of the custom installs I've done and seen are the goofiest box shapes you've ever seen, but they still pound :)

Looks good to me. Let it rock.

Only reson for centering the sub in that application would be cosmetics. Posistion of the woofer on that plane in that enclosure will make no difference in SQ or the SPL.
