New to the forum... got a couple questions
I just purchased 4 12 Ascendant Audio Assassins, I wanted to go for a solid sq setup... with alittle punch to it .. and with the AA subs being 75 dollars a piece I couldnt pass it up.
Im looking for a solid amp to power all four at once , or 2 seperate amps to 2 power 2 subs a piece ... now my question is what kind of wiring would I be looking at here .. ?
What type of amps would properly power these subs? to 600 watt amps for 2 subs a piece ? as they are recommended to have 250-350 rms power? or a 1000 watt mono to power all four with one amp?
If you guys have any input It would be greatly apprieciated ... thanks guys ... great forum you guys have here .. im glad to be a part of it
thanks - mike

Unless it's a 1200w RMS quality amp... and a "1000w" peak flea-market amp.
THEN you'd hear a difference.
Definitely make sure you are comparing apples to apples...
RMS power to RMS power - "peak" really is meaningless in comparison, particularly in all the nasty, unregulated, non-standardized ways that manufacturers can state it.
And even within amp manufacturers listing RMS power - your cheaper manufacturers might rate that continuous power when operated at around 1% distortion levels - where a higher-end company might rate their continuous power when operated at 0.001% distortion... and that'll have an effect on power rating, even between two "equivalent" amps.
You control a lot with the gain knob.
