well its a hell of a deal. i can get it for around 2gs and have to fix a little front damage. and i wont be driving it too much just when i go places and dont want to drive one of my POS.

My wife and I bought a 2000 328ci, and yes they are incredible to drive I cant seem to keep it under 80. Handling is great, it seems like all I have to do is think about changing lanes and I am already there. In regards to power, granted you are not going to blow away any porsches, but when you get on it you shure feel like you could. Now the bad side. Oil changes cost 75 bucks, but you only need to change the oil every 15,000 mi. they use there own special blend of synthetic. and if you dont know your way around an engine, you might want to learn. I have yet to take it into the shop for a problem and leave there for less than 500 bucks. Luckely I found out that my neighbor use to be a beemer mechanic so now I do all the work myself but that can be a pain in the ass since alot of their designs make it extreemly difficult too swap out parts. It took me over 6 hrs. to replace the resivour for the radiator b/c I could only get to the hose clamps from underneath after I removed the fan shroud, then doing battle with their custom hose clamps was no picknic. I'm sure there was a simpler way to do it but definatly not an obvious one. All that being said, it is a blast to drive and becouse of its responsiveness and performance a really safe care to drive but money wise it was not a good choice for a commuter car. well thats my personal experiencewith bmw the good and the bad. As far as Oil Changes... I know my uncle has a 2005 5 Series with the High output V6 damn it Pulls!! But yea he uses Synthetic just strait synthetic and its fine... maybe its on the newer ones you dont have to worry about... He has his oil changed by the dealership for free, but his old car 2001 7 series he did them himself and he didnt mind it. I thinkthe only thing that was tough for him was getting the Oil filter off of it but then again he was a big guy with big arms so i guess it would be a tight fit.

I loved my e36, and miss is dearly. If the miles are over 100k, expect the water pump to go out and the fuel pump...if they haven't been changed already. The stock water pumps on the e36 models have a plastic impeller, and I have seen several of them brake before 100k miles, including mine. They redesigned it after the fact, so that all replacement water pumps have a metal impeller now, so you shouldn't ever have to worry about it again.

That was the two largest probelms I had with it, otherwise a very reliable car. I put 30k miles on mine in two years. It got great gas mileage, and it was a hell of a time on the curves. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

thats really no big problems then. there are many cars that take water pumps at around that milage or intake gastkets and i have seen some dodge cars go through fuel pumps ever 40K.

My truck went through a Fuel Rail and a pump... and about 6 injectors right at 60k... very expensive to fix... but should have been spotted way earlier... damn crappy mechanics that my dad trusted!

plus that model has megaroom for big midbass in the kickpanels. I have seen 10's in there before. Should be a great car for an awesome install.
