If you have a voltmeter or know someone who does, you need to check the voltage output of the RCAs to see if it's decent output. With a 0db reference tone you should be able to get around 2V, with music it'll be much lower than that, though. You should still be able to get a decent voltage output from the RCAs.

also, my deck just spits cd's out cuz i took it apart cuz it had my soad cd in it when i pulled it out to put my pioneer in.

He already said he hooked it to his friends amp and it wanged. It's down to the amp or HU now.

well take out the sub, and check the ohm load. Check your wires for the HU, and all the way to the amp. Make sure nothing is loose. make sure your wires are correct from your amp to the sub. I know you say you checked it, but take your time and check carefully.

oh ya that slipped my mind. But still that amp could have doen something to it if it was clippin real bad.

The amp would have to put power to the sub to hurt it, which would result in sound :) I'm thinking HU, especially saying the other problems it's having. Kenwoods aren't exactly renowned for their reliability, anyway (no offense, dkguitarist)

You really need a new cd player Looks like this is your problem

i kno but i figured it'd still function. like i said it was a temporary cd player til i can get a better one. but i was having problems with the amp and sub. yeah my pionee premier 860mp raped this kenwood so bad in sq and quality.

if you want a great head unit that has alot of options thats pretty cheap look at JVC arsenal and Panasonic MXE

thanks for the advice. i'm also looking into some classified ads as well. thansk tho. we'll see if it's the hu or not.
