some of you guys might remember me from the other fourm. I have been pretty busy with school and all now, but did find some time to make this monsteriosity. thats right two tempests in 8.57^3 tunned at 28.25hz. 102in^2 of port area. ran on a JBL 1200.1 amp. really tight SQ and tons of spl.
more pics can be found HERE
and yes I can still see out the back without any obstructions from the box. :happy055:
I noticed that the actually seat part of the back seat you still have in there with the amps mounted on the back of the back support. On the Cherokee it is actually very easy to take that seat part out (the bottom one that you have facing vertically right now) Just look at the latches onthe bottom of the seat and click one and it lifts up then pull it out...weights virtually nothing. After you do this it looks better and is more convenient becuase it allows the front two seats to recline more.

from what it soudnz like you are insisting that I remove my rear seats? I can't do taht becasue people ride back there and I wouldnt have any room for anything else to be carried around. :s_thumbup
I'm doing the same setup as you in my Jeep Cherokee..minus the enormous box you have there. I willl however be running 2 Tempests ported in my 1993 Jeep Cherokee Country. I think we might have the exact same Jeep.

I have the 96' sport. pretty much the same but different options and stuff.
as for how they sound. lets put it this way, after having them in seperate 4^3 boxes and tunned to 28hz, now having them in a common chamber, I have a new found respect for adire. extremly tight punchy sq when needed and when its time to pour on the bass well my front stage can not keep up with all of it. its just way too much. but thats also more of a spl orientaited setting.when i simply dial the sub volume down to +5 on the h/u it is really wonderfull filling bass!! I am extremly impressed withthem being 15"s. I have heard SQ 10's and 12's that couldnt compare.
dont mean to butt in on this thread...but is there a benefit to running 2 subs in a common chamber? i have always built it so that the chambers are divided. what are the positives/negatives to either?
TEDD
They can be in the same chamber. The benefit to having two is that you can run an amplifier to each sub, or if one sub fails, the other sub's arispace isn't compromised.
