Good Amplifier Suggestions for (2) KAPPA PERFECT 12.1D
My budget is looking like 250 dollars to spend on the amp, and I either a: want to know if I can get anything good with that amount of $ to properly power (2) KAPPA PERFECT 12.1D's and if so, what type of amp would it be?
Also, if I have to get a 1200watt amp, do you think i'll be needing an alternator upgrade? The subs are 350 watts RMS, which is where the problem lies, because its hard to find a 700 watt amp. Also, the subs have a 2 ohm impedance.
Thanks.

You mean dual 4 ohm? You can wire both subs for either 4 ohms or 1 ohm at the amp.
You can look for monoblock 1 ohm amps or bridgable 2-channel amps (4 ohms).
As for 700 rms, you don't need that to get the same performance. 600 rms between the two is still more than enough power for them. They are pretty efficient.
1200 rms amp, yes to upgrading the alternator on 90% of vehicles.

Buy Bills amp, or look into a JBL bp600.1, KickerKX600.1, Hifonics (brutus) I dunno the models. MTX500D, or a Rockfordfosgate. All there 600rms(round there) amps can be had for $200 or less. I know some on here don't like MTX or RF, but everyone I know that has used them, hasn't gave out, and put out what they claimed, or were close to it.

So your all saying that 300 rms to each sub will still make them sound very good, even though they are rated for 350 each? I was worried about not only underpowering them, but trashing my amp, and not having the subs sound up to their potential.
Edit: What would you say about a
Infinity
REF611A
600 Watt Class D Amp for those subs? I can get one fairly cheap. Are infinity amps any good?

There is actually no such thing as underpowering a sub. When you play at low volumes, you are playing at lower powers (say you have 600 rms, when the volume is 1/4 of the way up, it could be putting out 70 or 100 watts). Very rarely do you hit the max of the amp.
I have a Perfect 12.1d by the way. It played well even on 150 watts.
