New to this, What amp do I need (Bazooka EL 1204's)

Post by lost »

Well I got these for free so I figured I would put them to use.. What kind of an amp would I need to get these running.. From a site I looked at the specs were
Liquid cooling optional with addition of CHIL-PLUG.
Power Handling 300
Power Handling with Liquid Cooling 450
4 or 8 ohms Available
Sensitivity 92 dB
Frequency Response 20Hz-1000Hz
Voice Coil Size 1.5
Magnet Weight 40

The ones I have are 4 ohm 12's with liquid cooling.. What do i need to get em going?

Thanks in advance!

Is the power handling max watts or rms?
Do you have the liquid cooling accessories to make it work?

You will want to look for an amp that does 600 rms (or twice the sub's rated RMS) at 2 ohms (monoblock amp will be easiest). If you have liquid cooling, then an amp rated for 7-800 rms at 2 ohms.

Something that could be useful if it wasn't limited to Bazooka.

(basically, water cooled instead of air cooled)

Are they single or dual voice coil? What is the impedance of the voice coil(s)?

Yes, they are single 4 ohm. Look into a mono block amp. JBL600.1 would be great. They are 300rms not 200. So that JBL should do wonders.

There you go, JBL 600.1's. If you don't mind buying from ebay.
