Remote not working?

After i ran speaker wire to my amp for some speakers (i cheated and pulled the deck out and cut the speakerwires back there instead of running it through the doors. anyway, after i put everythign back together, for some reason my remote control will not work? any ideas? im going to try my other pionner one and make sure its not the remote itself or battery first, but im pretty sure its not that.

are we talking hand held wireless or wired?
