Installation Problem

Post by Z71Zak »

I am trying to install my Kicker L7 in my truck. I would like to use the stock cd player, but it does not have RCA plugs. I was told that I would have to splice the wires off of my door speakers with the RCA's (after one end was cut off) and then hook them up to my amp. I tried that, but I did not have any success. I am using a Pioneer amp. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? Thanks

ahhh nooo noooo noooo who ever told you this was very very incorrect. you need to get a line level converter from a good source like pac it will use your factory stereo outs and give you two rca outs. or depending on what amp it is it might have speaker inputs. what is the amp model im the resident pioneer freak.

The amp is an 800 Watt Mosfet.

That isn't a type of amp...

But you need a LOC like Sinister said. Splice it in behind your stock HU, then you plug RCA's into it.

what year is your pickup? pac makes a nice one for like an 03 chevy and up no cutting required. i usually dont reccomened doing that cause they never usually sound the best but its a way to add some subs. i really like to see people change out the deck and put an aftermarket deck in but thats not always an option.
