Midbass in the back?
Midbass in the back?
well i plan on ordering a pair of Infinity 62.5i's next week for the front, maybe some for the back sometime later, but my question is, would it sound ok with midbass speakers in the back speaker location? with the Infinity's in the front and the sub in the back. how would this effect the sound? this is a 94 Celica Hatchback.

Sounds like a proper rear fill setup.
Its best to run the rear fill paralleled so they produce the same music.

what isnt so great about them? i do know they dont have much midbass, but that will be solved with the midbass drivers.. also has anyone shopped at Hooked On Tronics.com? they have the Infinity speakers i was looking for a little less than Etronics... and Lotas can you tell me what you dont like about em? when i go out and listen to em again i wanna understand what you mean more. the highs sounded nice though from them.. also if anyone has any recommendations for 6 1/2"s let me know! dont want to spend more than $90 for em.
ah sorry if youo dont want bass they should be fine...they do have absolutely no bass though, like when they move or when a bass note hits in a song they dont even "pop", they just move. But yeah if you're buying them mostly for the tweeter I'd go for it, pretty cheap.Scarrell wrote:what isnt so great about them? i do know they dont have much midbass, but that will be solved with the midbass drivers.. also has anyone shopped at Hooked On Tronics.com? they have the Infinity speakers i was looking for a little less than Etronics... and Lotas can you tell me what you dont like about em? when i go out and listen to em again i wanna understand what you mean more. the highs sounded nice though from them.. also if anyone has any recommendations for 6 1/2"s let me know! dont want to spend more than $90 for em.
I would not shop on hookedontronics.com, I recently just asked someone else that question, but I read some reviews and negative vs. positive review ratio is about 3:10 ... They said the product/shipping was fine but there was 0 customer service, and i've been a victim of that 0 customer service thing before and it sucks, so im not gonna shop there i dont think.
I think circuit city has those infinitys for 100$ or something? and if they have them for that you should be able to find a reliable online site with them, maybe even authorized dealer. did you try thezeb.com? good luck.

I have the Infinity Ref 6.5's... They arent to bad. I wish the had a bit more punch to them. Of couse I have mine running of the head unit and I dont have any sound deadener in/on my doors, so I cant really say all that much. Also, the highs are a bit bright for some people. Other than that, great speakers!

i had infinity reference components in my first install and they do put out bass, but if you got then crossover at 150hz high pass or running with a HU it might be a little hard to get bass out of em, i dont agree with the coment that they "just move" but i do agree that there not the best midbass out there, i sold them for like 70$ i think.
er i wasnt referring to the components...maybe thats the diff? dunno, might be same speaker6three6mafia6 wrote:i had infinity reference components in my first install and they do put out bass, but if you got then crossover at 150hz high pass or running with a HU it might be a little hard to get bass out of em, i dont agree with the coment that they "just move" but i do agree that there not the best midbass out there, i sold them for like 70$ i think.
