What did they do to Cardomain?

Post by Chris from Washington »

I've had my Camaro's page on CarDomain since about '99. I recently went back to update it, and I was completely thrown off by the changes they've made to everyone's pages.

The detailed history of my car's restoration, the sections on my LED projects, and the audio upgrades—all of it is gone. Instead, there are random images with unrelated text. Seriously, who thought this new design was a good idea?

From what I've seen in the forums, it looks like no one's happy with these changes. People are leaving the site in droves, and honestly, this might be one of the worst redesigns ever. Did they even test this with actual members before going live? I highly doubt it, considering how much backlash there's been.

It feels like the CarDomain team has completely forgotten what the site was all about—a place for car enthusiasts to build detailed pages showcasing their rides, sharing their car’s history, and offering tutorials on custom work. Now, it's been replaced with a shallow, "look at me now" Facebook-style format.

Does anyone know of other sites that still have the old CarDomain vibe? I'm looking for a new home for my Camaro's story.

2 months later and they still haven't fixed anything.
I've never seen so much site fail before.

ya I've been backing stuff up, and putting my pictures in several places now just to be safe.

If you ever do want to highlight a car, you should check out driiive.com, they seem to be really wanting to make a great site for it users. Instead of trying to ruin it at every turn like CD did.

Bring this back from the dead, but looks like CarDomain was finally put out of it's misery.
Site is gone and forwards to MotorTrends site.

Anyone else know of a good site to showcase your rides? Drivn is the only one I know of it, but that site also hasn't been updated in years and seems abandoned.

Well anyone coming to this thread from Google, you're in luck.
Because I decided to do it myself, and create a site similar to how CarDomain was back in the day.

Join today, and share updates about your rides.
