Ok...so im pretty sure im gonna order a R.E. XXX 15". The amp im gonna run is a fosgate amp, 1500x1 at 2 ohms. Since the XXX is a dual 2 ohm sub, should i order the dual 1 ohm version so that i run at 2 ohms, or should i run it at 1 ohm? Also, if i put it in a ported box, does it matter what side of the vehicle the port is on? Also, is there a calculation to figure out how long the port should be? i think thats it for now...THANX
yes get dual 1ohm so you can run it 2ohm series...i ordered dual 1 and they sent dual 2 so make sure you remember and dont call them the next day and change it..
yeah its 25$ but when you're paying over 400dollars already its not much.
plus, it can save you a lot of money when buying an amp. a 1000watt 2ohm amp is a lot cheaper than a 1000watt 4ohm amp. ( of course if you get dual 2 you can run it at 1ohm too but you get my point)
yea...but i can get my buddy's bd1501 fosgate (he's used it for like 20 hours) for only 300 bucks...so i think ill go with that...what about some of the other questions i asked in the first post?

i cant really help you there, my box is sealed. I really dont think which side the port is on matters, but im not 100%, theres prolly some situations or time when it matters like in a van or suv or something. Check out the FAQ section for help with boxes.
yea...when i build the box i was going to put the port on the same side as the sub. But my question was supposed to be does it matter which side of the car the port is on...drivers side or passenger side for the best sound or does it not matter? I drive a GMC s-15 Jimmy if that makes a difference
