Lost power

Post by Ryan from Ohio »

What a bunch of suck. Our entire town is operated on Municipal power. Friday night the sub station got hit by lightning. Our genius "Electricians" went out to the sub station and seen the fuses were blown. Replaced and threw the switch, which in turn blew the living piss out of the sub station... The jack asses didnt properly test/check the system. So we were out of power for 36 hours. I was able to save about $40 worth of food- only the more valuable stuff. The rest was bad...

What a pile of suck.

Electric came back on about noonish today.

Sucks to loose all that other food. We were able to replace a very small portion of it. Horrible timing as I havent received a pay check in almost 4 weeks and we leave on vacation Thursday morning.

On the bright side I start a new job on the 1st. Rather excited!

depends where you live. in anchorage eagle river or wasilla it wasnt so bad but for the last 2 years or so ive lived kinda out in the sticks. its not too far away from civilization 1.5 hours to anchorage but its enough that i can go shoot guns, go out in the woods in my truck easily and have several projects in the front yard without anyone whining. only bad thing is bears getting into stuff and people stealing my heating oil while im away.
