new FAQ threads coming

I have a few ideas for some new FAQ threads. When I get motivated, I plan to write the following ones:
-why do I need a subsonic filter, what is it, and how to I set one?
-differences between SVC and DVC, and QVC and which do I want?
-power handling ratings versus required power to reach Xmax
-how to plan your new system from top to bottom. things to consider.

anything else come to mind that people get tired of answering over and over again?
Things I could write a FAQ thread about so they can just link to it instead of typing the same answer again and again?

Perhaps one on SQ vs SPL vs SQL, stating how SQ is subjective and whatnot.

Those are good ideas, my favorite being the power handling vs xmax, but I do believe that the name should be changed to something a little simpler (or more generic). Such as amount of power vs subwoofer excursion.

I was just explaining what the threads were going to be about. hadn't given a lot of thought to names yet

SQ isn't really a subjective thing in events though. it's based on C weighted curve, imaging, and soundstage. All of them are at the least, partially quantitative.
prefrence is subjective if you're picking speakers, but that's really not relative if you're talking about trying to get a flat curve on an RTA. different things there.
I'll give some thought to that one though and see if I can come up with something. I see a lot of people who don't really seem to know what they want from a sub.. so that could be something to cover in more general terms, like how to really define "sq" based on detail, responsiveness, etc and how there's no "best" sub and SPL is based on a lot more factors than just which sub you buy.
I'll give it some thought.

Maybe one on xmax, cone area and drive numbers. How a single 12 with much xmax is louder that 2 12's with less xmax.
