component suggestions

Post by pimpmaynard »

HIFONICS ZXi5.2C ZEUS 5.25"
MB QUART QSC-213 5.25"
Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 5.25"

i'm looking for (2) component systems to install a new front sound stage. my price range is 300-350 for both sets including shipping. i will be pushing them with a ppi art a300.2. one set in the doors, one set in the kick pods. these are a few that i've scouted out, but just let know how you feel about them, or if you have any better suggestions. i think my ppi art pushes 150x2 at 2ohms, 75x2 at 4ohms. thanks guys!

You would be better served with one good set up front vs two inferior sets up front. Besides having lesser comps, you have double the speakers and a larger chance of messing up your front sound stage.

Just curious, have you considered 3 way comps? Much better potential for imaging and sound quality. Plus a 4" midrange will be much easier to get in a kick panel.

Because they just are compared to a $300 set of CDT comps, morel comps, Rainbow SLCs, etc.

I have to question a set of $60 comps.

The MBs do look better. I thought he was looking at some low end stuff. Im still not a fan of metal domed tweets...

Its just my belief he would do better with one set of quality comps vs two sets of lesser.

Yep, your exactly right. (like i needed to tell you)

More is not always better. If you really want the best bang for your buck, go with a 3 way set up. If your not sure if you want to go with a 3 way set, spend money on a nice 2 way, and leave it at that.

i am in agreeance with you on the one good set would be better than a pair of "lesser" components. but calling a product in a diffrent price class inferior is just incorect.

i have used a 3 way component set, yes. i actually still have it, but i blew one of the woofers. it was a 1'', 4'', 8'' 3 way set, and that junk was loud. but i used the 8's in the 6x9 spots as midass, and it was perfect. this still leaves the kickpods open, and i'd like to use open space. ideally, i'd like to blow womens clothes off with mids and highs, much rather than bass. and those mb quart comps that i had listed in my first post, they are about 200/set shipped. and if i'm not mistaken they are the 2nd highest model that's out for them right now (i could be wrong.)
