Toledo Zoo

This is for all of the Ohio guys on here I would think. I was thinking about taking the family down to the Toledo Zoo and was just wondering what other peoples thoughts were on the place. I have been to the Detroit Zoo many times but have heard that the Toledo Zoo puts it to shame. Any input on it is appreciated.

lol, Its hard to say. When you have been to it numerous times its like the same old same old. The new African part is fairly cool.

I think its like $12/adult 7 for kids? Mike would know better probably.

We always go on a Monday morning... Lucas County residents get in free before Noon on Mondays

And Yeah, there have been some great additions to the Toledo Zoo, it's one of my grand daughters favorite places to go :)

I haven't been to the Zoo in years, but I was told just 2 days ago it is rated as one of the best in the country. I truly plan to go to the Lights Before Christmas (think that is what it is called) this year.

Toledo Zoo is one of the best in the country? Never heard that, but that makes me much more interested in going.

I am not for certain, and I have not been to the Toledo Zoo since I was a kid. However, I thought it was better than Detroit, Columbus and the other Zoo's in much larger cities. Just this Monday a customer came into where I work, and we were talking he said something about going to the Toledo zoo I said I haven't been there in years. He said I should find time to go again according to some magazine, it is rated as one of the best in the country. I believe it is still the only Zoo in the country/I think in North America with Polar Bears or maybe Panda's or maybe both not sure it is one of those two. I've never been to the lights before Christmas, but heard it is great. See you go to Toledo, the Toledo Museum is very highly rated too though I have never been there either. Will go soon because my new GF is very interested in art and I will take her there someday.

Thanks for the responses. We may make the trip down this Sunday but it isn't for sure yet. We are going to Cedar Point on Saturday so maybe we will just get a hotel room in the area and do the Zoo Sunday before we come home. Thanks again for the responses.

Yeah actually it is top rated... And the Lights before Christmas is always great... We've takin the kids/ grandkids for the last 5 years and it gets better every year

Actually kinda funny, cause the one issue that never fails on the ballot is money for the Toledo Zoo... It would seem that is the one single most pride Toledo and Lucas County have.

I've been to the Christmas lights at the Zoo, it was pretty nice. And cold haha.

I think the last time i went to the Toledo Museum was last winter sometime. I've been to bigger, and IMO, better, but the Toledo Museum wasn't too bad.
