in dash video?

allright guys im looking at getting an in dash flip out dvd receiver. ive been looking at some of the jensen ones but i dont know anything about them so what would u guys recomend? im trying to stay under $400.

With only 400 to spend, you wont be able to buy from brands like Pioneer, Panasonic, Alpine.... new atleast. I dont know much about the dvd units, but if you want new, you will probably have to settle with something along the lines of Jensen, Pyle, Boss if you want new. I would look at something used actually... probably from Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, or Panasonic.

Another option would be a single din unit that has a 3-3.5" screen. If you absolutely have to have a flip out and a 6.5-7" screen, then this wouldnt be something you want. But these units are a lot cheaper and still have all the functionality.

i personally have a jenson 7" flip out touch screen in my car i like it i got mine for $300 brand new its a good unit in my eyes for wat i paid for it no where near as good as the pioneer n alpine units but for $300- $400 u get your moneys worth

I think I would advise against the motorized flip up ones. I've seen way too many of them break, even under warranty. A separate tv would be the way to go.

ok, i sell pioneer, power acoustik and jensen and phase linear units, i have others available but if i actively sold every brand in everyones catalog we could go on forever and there isnt much price difference in them. the jensen unnits perform their functions as well as the pioneer units, they cost half as much but remember that audiovox is their parent company and one of the pioneers of in car video way back to in car vhs players. they have been making screens a long time now, longer than just about anyone else in the mobile video biz. now that being said, i would haveno problems running the phase linear uv7i for 300 bucks new or if you want touch screen the jensen vm9311ts for around 4-450. the ipod functions are great and the dvd is flawless.

if u are still interested, i just bought a new double din for myself and i currently have an eclipse flip out dvd unit (AV8022). i would be willing to sell it to you once i install my new unit(should be 2 weeks or so).. reply and i will post pics

I'm looking for one too, so if the price is right, and its not too horrible I'll take it if he doesnt want it.
