It appears to have the same confoguration as zapco's Symbilink. obviously there must be some standard for a mini-balanced DIN plug/socket, just like XLR is a format is used in a many pro audio equipment. I can use RCA's (I got the last of Monster's David Navone- patented Pro, 4:1 ratio, twisted-pair...

PPI/TubeDriver/BK MA2150

I got the Micheal Anthony tube diver TD2150 (150 RMS watts x 2 @ 4ohms, 300 RMS watts x 2 @ 2 ohms). Apparently PPI (essentially the same amps as Butler/TubeDriver versions) used $300,000 in just R&D engineering funds for a limited production (<100)of a special edition, rare amp with exotic Russ...

Also, a great place to look for good car audio at ridiculously low prices is at police auctions of stolen property. I got a Nak CDtuner1 (it was an $850 unit) at a police auction for $50. the most expensive part was buying a new pull-out sleeve/wiring harness for $150. For controlling the sub-bass s...

engineering needs to engineer not just functionality, but marketability, or the product will fail. It needs to engineer in packaging feasibility, or logistics :p That is true. I used to write CFS (Customer Functionality Specifications)--what the customers expect and want subjectively; and Technical...

rather than the speakers, I think the sub enclosure is going to make the most difference. For rap, a ported 3rd or 4th-order enclosure will be more efficient, giving you more sound in that 70Hz-200Hz area with a smaller amp. But you will sacrifice lower frequency extension and sub definition. becaus...

I would recommend this: Although I haven't had the 346 line (which is now made by DEI, whose speakers may be completely different than what I've had), I have had the old AL6 (6" woofer, 1" tweeter) and many iterations of various a/d/s stifflite/copolymer 5 1/4" woofers. Car Audio Maga...

a NAK CD700III?

I haven't heard of that.

The CD700II I bought was among the last after production run. They stopped making them. I had to get mine from Japan.

a lot of good points you just made, yeah what sells the most is what manufacturers have to make to stay in business; but the car industry, each division, needs an image product (e.g., Corvette, Viper, Acura NSX)--something to attract buyers into the showroom, so that, even though they may not be abl...

my first subs were nak SP-80 8" carbon-fiber-impreganated into polypropylene (best of both worlds). In a IASCA competitiononce, I got 9/10 for sub bass clarity. I see these and their bigger 1010 10" bigger brother on ebay all the time, and highly recommend them. They don't perform too well...
