may have also been using an ultraefficient enclosure design as well as a load of power, and utilizing physics to aid as well, like a quarter-wave response.
if he used a 6th order or snalshell enclosure, that'd boost the output considerably at the tuned frequency which he should have tuned to the vicinity of the vehicle's sympathetic frequency.

I dunno, I've been trying to find out. I'll have to ask a guy that was there if he ever comes online.

I'd say that sounds pretty honest for a dash score..154 is insane anyways. A single 10 doin it..wow. What 10" did he use? I'm guessin he threw gobbs of power at it.

Yea, definately a huge difference. I think I read that he had hit 154 at the dash, but that may have been for a different year or vehicle.

It's not a BS number, but it's still isn't at the dash or kicks. It is the highest number ever recorded on a TL mic though.
I'm sure their could have been higher numbers if the Top SPL guys competed in "super port". Don't get me wrong, its loud..damn loud. But, i don't really see the point of metering from the port. As an SPL competitor..wouldnt you want it to be as realistic as possible? Just my thoughts. The part that impressed the most was not the number, but that it was hit with a single 10. That's impressive. With that said, I wonder what the actual difference between the dash and the port are. I'm gunna have to guess its a world of difference. Well over 10dbs would be my guess..i duno though.

You gotta think that 5 feet below sea level isn't really that much, so I would say that number is still impressive.

Not sure about that..but it was metered from the port..basically a BS number. I'm sure it would be respectable on the dash though.
