My best suggestion would be for you to go out and listen to them yourself... You may find the results quite suprising, especially at higher volumes even if only off of a h/u... if you plan on amping (now or down the road) definately a major difference ;)

May i ask how much of a difference in SQ is there in 6x8 vs. 6.5?

I wouldn't recommend either (although they are both good companies), simply because they are an oblong speaker... for better quality sound, make a baffle or have it made and throw a 5.25" in there and you'll be much happier...
And if it's for the rears, then you're better off going without ;)
