ive looked around alot and found this http://www.ultimateavmag.com/features/7 ... ndex4.html
its similar to the one im interested in but much much smaller
they dont seem that cool after researching them but everything i have found is for home theatre models not real theatre versions

all the company sites are down or are now stupid advert sites. so i guess this idea didnt do to well

Using this information, Alton created a subwoofer -- later applying the technology to the whole range of speakers found in a cinema -- with a fluid-filled bladder to transmit sound vibrations rather than air. "Once you impact water, it's just like hitting a drum," Alton describes. "The water is in a space that is slightly under pressure in the enclosure, which then acts like a drum. We tune it for the frequency that we're after, and then it does the rest.

"If you look at the sub, there's no openings except for a small vent in the back of the speaker. You can't see it, feel it, touch it or get to it. It's under the water. What happens is that we're feeling a vibration that's actually caused by something hitting the drum of water, so it's real."

The result is a sound system that allows the audience to "Feel the Sound," as the company's tagline says, by reproducing controlled frequencies between 10 and 80 Hz, which resonate with listeners because their bodies are composed mostly of water. "[My system] allows you to turn the sound down," Alton says. "There's a big problem with the amount of volume that's in theatres. A lot of people get upset because it blasts you in the face. With my system, it gives you complete detail of everything -- the ambiance, the dynamics -- in a lower volume setting, so that you feel and you hear every detail just like you were standing beside the person instead of blasting you out.

"The subwoofer works on a low volume with vibrations. It actually could be considered to be a sonic generator because at low volume, it will shake the clothes on your body. And it's so smooth, and even the people above 65 to 70 years, they don't want to go out to a theatre and get blasted. They [don't] feel like they [are] getting intruded upon."

I just re-read it, that thing is designed to hit low as hell, basically one big bass shaker.. but smoooothh, and shake the whole room.

damn it like I really needed another thing to tweak over :) I've been searchin for something about this for a while. Its got me curious, especially the 11.5x over a single speaker? I thought I've seen most enclosure designs. I gotta see a pic....

by cargodz » Tue May 29, 2007 1:47 pm

I REEALLY gots to see a picture of this thing :)

by colemanyoungerinalaska » Tue May 29, 2007 1:45 pm

im gonna try to get this off him he got the whole setup cheap so im gonna make him an offer so i can play with this thing

heres some of the patent i found i believe this is the same as what we have there are no pictures on here though so i cant be sure sounds about right though

this is from http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/60144 ... ption.html

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, it s an object of the present invention to provide an acoustic speaker system that efficiently reproduces low frequency audio signals.

Another object of the present invention is to provide an acoustic speaker system whose low frequency or bass response closely simulates that of actual instrumental tones.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide an acoustic speaker system that efficiently reproduces audio signals below 15 Hz.

Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become more obvious hereinafter in the specification and drawings.

In accordance with the present invention, an acoustic enclosure system for a loudspeaker is provided which includes a central chamber and two end chambers. The central chamber is separated from each of the end chambers by a common horizontal wall. Two loudspeakers are sealably mounted in the central chamber such that one speaker is mounted in each of the horizontal walls and the speakers face away from each other. The central chamber has a port in a side wall that is open to the outside of the enclosure. Each of the end chambers is airtight and contains a fluid chamber with a flexible bladder that is filled with fluid and maintained in the end chamber at a given distance from the corresponding loudspeaker. The flexible bladders receive acoustic pressure waves generated by the loudspeakers. Each of the bladders contacts the interior surfaces of the side walls and end piece that form the fluid chamber. A flexible support is provided underneath each of the bladders so that the bladders are each substantially maintained a distance L from the respective horizontal walls.

This enclosure system produces 11/2 times the vibrational effect over a single speaker design. In addition, smoothing of the bass waveform and more accurate definition of the waveform are achieved, which make the output stronger in the tactile response on the body and deliver a much smoother tone.

Yeah I can't find anything on a generalized search, but I'm sure I could dig up something if I had more info.

not a thing none of the others have any marks o them either but maybe we can take out the woofers and see what brand model they are
